Last fall at a show, client asked me for a necklace made of peridot for her mother. Even though peridot is my birthstone, I have never been a big fan. On my next purchasing trip, however, I found some exceptionally nice 3 mm micro-faceted rondelle beads. I wove these into a kumihimo braids with silver plated wire & was very happy with the results below. The peridot really sparkles & this bracelet is very comfortable to wear. This piece is also the debut of my patent-pending logo fold-over magnetic clasp. This clasp is both very easy to use as well as very secure, which is not the norm for magnetic clasps. It is entirely hand made (see previous blog about casting) using Argentium® sterling silver for its wonderful color & tarnish-resistance. I use only the strongest grade of rare-earth (neodyium) magnets that are nickel-plated for a shiny, jewelry-quality look.
